Will we have a contract?
Yes, you will have either a Joint Contracts Tribunal (JCT) contract, or a signed estimate package. We will discuss the details of each of these when we meet with you for a consultation.
How are payments made?
You will make a payment every four weeks by BACS.
Depending on the project scope/nature, we may ask for a deposit on commencement of the works.
Are you insured?
We are fully insured and hold Public Liability insurance and a Contractor’s All Risk policy.
Will your work be certified?
It will be certified by Building Control through their final sign-off, generally via the local authority or a private firm. Electrics and plumbing are registered and signed off against Part P and Gas Safe/Oftec regulations respectively. Windows can be FENSA registered if required, and log burners can be HETAS registered.
Can you help with the planning or can you recommend an architect/structural engineer?
We become involved with projects once you have been awarded full planning permission from your local authority. We will be happy to recommend other professionals to help with the design and concept phase to get all permissions granted and a tender package ready for estimation.
Can you provide references/past customers for us to speak to?
Yes – we can approach previous clients for references and testimonials. You can also read case studies of our latest projects on our portfolio page.
Will you always have someone on site or will there be periods when your team are working on other projects?
There will always be someone assigned to manage your project. We also find weekly meetings are useful for our clients, and you can communicate openly with us by phone and email on week days (Monday-Friday) from 7.30 – 16.30.
Do you have a health and safety policy, and will my site be safe?
Yes, we adhere to Construction, Design and Management Regulations and our Health and Safety policy as standard practice.
Am I able to source my own products if I want to?
Yes – this should be specified within the tender.
Are you VAT registered?
Yes we are, our VAT registration number is 210 5942 94– all prices we quote will exclude VAT but we always ask if you are VAT registered, and explain the pricing including VAT if you are not.
VAT is charged at the current standard rate. New builds are zero rated and conversions are 5%.
